Valencia Prime, 25, was on stage at Philadelphia’s Gabour neighborhood’s Taboo Lounge and Sports Bar when she passed out, according to bar owner Jeffrey Sutland.

The venue released a statement on social media that said, “Today we grieve the death of a very bright and rising star in the performing world and a man always overflowing with love and optimism.” “We bid Valencia Prime farewell, but we won’t forget the light you brought to the stage.”

Other musicians paid tribute to Prime as word of his passing spread. The transgender woman known as Prime identifies as “Philadelphia’s Plus-Size Dancing Diva.”

“Over the past five years, our neighborhood has seen a lot of hardship. Valencia Prime was a charming and gifted individual. Rest in power, sweetheart,” said sexuality educator and aspiring artist Timri Leigh on Twitter.
