After Mukesh Ambani resigned from the chairman post, the board decided to give the position of chairman to Akash Ambani elder son of Mukesh Ambani. This step can be seen as a succession plan by Mukesh Ambani.

In the recent Stock exchange filing, The company said in the meeting on 27 June, that they have decided to approve the appointment of Akash M Ambani, non-executive director of the company as the new chairman of the company. This was necessary after the 65-year-old billionaire Mukesh Ambani resigned from his post.

Some Other changes in the positions of the company were also done on 27 June, Among other appointments, Pankaj Mohan Pawar was appointed as the managing director of the company for the next upcoming 5 years.

Raminder Singh Gujral and K V Chowdary were also appointed as independent directors, which will add more stability to the company business
